Legacy Foundation: Carrying on the Traditions

2022-2023 Annual Legacy Report

2022-2023 Annual Report

Our Mission

The Duluth Edison Charter Schools Legacy Foundation represents a community-based effort to build partnerships and assets in order to provide supplemental funding, independent of the school budget, to enrich and extend the education of students of the Duluth Public Schools Academy, also known as Duluth Edison Charter Schools (DECS).

Our Purpose

We have partnered with the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation to provide academic enrichment for the maximum number of students possible. We hope to strengthen these students through requested educational programs and opportunities for generations to come. Grants are provided to DECS teachers two to four times a year the funds profits allow and a requesting process the DECS Legacy Foundation Board oversees.

Fund Management

The Duluth Edison Charter Schools Legacy Foundation is administered by a board of trustees made up of 7 to 9 members in conjunction with the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation.  Our current board chair is Bonnie Jorgenson and can be reached at b.jorgenson@duluthedison.com
